       Canada is one of the richest countries in the world, and one of the seven largest industrial countries in the West and one of the top ten trading nations in the world. In recent years, China-Canada economic and trade relations have developed greatly. From single commodity trade to comprehensive, cross-disciplinary and diversified trade and economic and technological cooperation, the flow of goods, services, personnel and capital has become increasingly frequent. The economic ties are constantly deepening. According to Statistics Canada, from January to July 2017, China-Canada bilateral import and export volume was US$40.12 billion, an increase of 14.2%. Among them, Canada’s exports to China were US$10.29 billion, up 19.8%, accounting for 4.3% of Canada’s total exports, up 0.4 percentage points; Canada’s imports from China were US$29.83 billion, up 12.4%, accounting for 12.1% of Canada’s total imports, up 0.7 percentage point. From January to July, the trade deficit between Canada and China was 19.54 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.9%. As of July, China is Canada's second largest export market and the second largest source of imports.
